Stress is more than a buzzword, it is a reality and proves to be increasingly more difficult to handle for individuals as well as for organizations. The costs of mismanaged stress are high and span from monetary costs to negative impact on health and well-being. However, stress is a normal biological reaction to danger, it makes our whole system alert and ready to respond (fight or flight). When we feel our competencies do not match the situation at hand we feel stressed. That in itself is not a bad thing, on the contrary, the physical and mental alertness helps to deliver peak performance. But if this high alert state is a constant way of being, when the demands are too many, too often with no time to regenerate – that’s when we get on the slippery slope of negative stress and its impact on mental and physical health.
When working with me, we will together set up a plan for your personal stress competence that is based on the 3 pillars:
- Finding balance: doing things that help you relax
- Tackling challenges head on: personal growth in skills and personal networks
- Mental stress competence: forming helpful thoughts and belief when dealing with stress
The 3 pillars are based on stress research summarized in the book by Gert Kaluza (German language only), you can order from Amazon* by clicking the link.
Depending on your needs and the scope of the program you want to roll out within your organization, I will customize a stress competence program to your organization. Working with your HR, EHS and other departments as well as incorporating existing tools like web portals, flyers and more, will bring the most synergy and success! The goal is to reduce the stress in your organization and to increase your employees stress competence – all while observing measurable KPIs (Key Performance Indicators) move in the right direction.
